Intro, Links, Thanks, etc..
Being a Jackson Soloist fan for some 15 years, I recently decided to buy a few San Dimas era models and found a lack of general specs of these guitars. I decided what I have learned may be of some use to some people. Here is a generalized evolution of these guitars. It is a work in progress so it will change as I continue to learn about these guitars and items I list that may not be accurate and eventually get corrected. Use this as a guide, not as a 'be all and end all' information source. Gather a few different opinions and make your own judgment. I also want to stress that with any generic spec change (pickup routes, decal change, etc) there will always be a 'transitional' time period where you will find old and new specs leaving the factory simultaneously. In this era each guitar was a custom order, so one offs should be expected.
I want to thank some of my friends in the Charvel/Jackson world for the info, the phone calls, emails, and most of all for sharing your guitars with me. Chris Christos (aka yogadork) started the ball rolling, Rob Witte helped me with log info, Tracy Jenkins helped with a little bit of everything, Chuck (Blood Splatter) Edgerly for keeping the eye candy coming in, and Bret Dennis for the helpful info. There are many more of you I thank as well.
